Banks man dies after fall from tree

Banks – A Banks man has died after falling from a large cedar tree on a property in Manning near the Highway 26 and Highway 47 junction, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene just after 5:30 pm Thursday evening. The man was identified as 37-year-old Joseph Bradbury of Banks. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to witness statements, Bradbury was seen climbing a large cedar tree before being found unresponsive on the ground. He was associated with the property, though his reason for climbing the tree and why he fell are unknown.

In addition to Sheriff’s Office deputies, Banks Fire District, North Plains Police, Oregon State Police and the Washington County Medical Examiner responded to the scene.

Bradbury’s family has been notified.
