Banks National Night Out to be held August 1

Banks – On August 1st from 6-8:30  pm, Banks residents, businesses, and area public safety agencies will meet at the Sunset Speedway to take part in National Night Out.

The event features representatives and display booths from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Banks Fire District, Life Flight Network, local media groups (including the Banks Post), Jim’s Thriftway, and more. Jim’s Thriftway will have BBQ hot dogs for purchase, with proceeds benefiting Banks Braves boys basketball. Sunset Speedway will also have drinks and snacks available for purchase.

Started in 1984, National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that seeks to promote partnerships between law enforcement agencies and the public while building neighborhood camaraderie, according to the National Association of Town Watch, the organization that launched the program.

The Banks National Night Out is hosted by the City of Banks.
