Banks – On Tuesday, August 7th from 6-8:30 p.m., Banks residents, businesses, and area public safety agencies will meet at the Sunset Speedway to take part in National Night Out.
The event features representatives and display booths from a host of public agencies – past years attendees have included the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Banks Fire District, Life Flight Network, Jim’s Thriftway, and more. Sunset Speedway will have drinks and snacks available for purchase.
Started in the mid-1980’s, National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that seeks to promote partnerships between law enforcement agencies and the public while building neighborhood camaraderie, according to the National Association of Town Watch, the organization that launched the program.
The Banks National Night Out is hosted by the City of Banks.
The Banks Sunset Speedway is located behind Sunset Park at 12765 NW Main Street.
