Banks – The Banks Volunteer Firefighter’s Association will hold a pancake breakfast at Banks Fire District #13 on Sunday, March 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise funds for their organization, which provides aid to families and firefighters in need after tragedy strikes.
“The Association uses its funds to support those in need in our community as well as our firefighters (and other firefighters throughout the state/country) when a need arises,” said Scott Adams, Banks Fire District #13 Public Information Officer.
Adams said that the organization, which is separate from the fire district, also adopts local families during the holiday season, providing gifts and meals to needy families. The association provides scholarships to students pursuing careers in fire science, and purchases equipment for the fire district that might not be provided for in the district’s budget.
The popular pancake breakfast has grown in the past years to include representatives from Metro West Ambulance, Life Flight Network, the Oregon Department of Forestry, with Adventist Health joining the program this year.
At the breakfast, attendees can get a ride in a fire engine, receive a station tour, and get a blood pressure check.
The menu includes pancakes or biscuits and gravy, sausage or ham, eggs, fruit, coffee, milk, and juice.
Adult tickets are $7, seniors are $5, children under 12 years old are $4, and a family of six or less can get in for $25.
Banks Fire District #13 is located at 13430 NW Main Street in Banks.
