Banks – After more than 28 years in the same spot at 3627 Pacific Avenue in Forest Grove, Trans Action Transmission is moving their shop to the garage on Sunset Avenue in Banks that until recently, housed Strassel’s Automotive.
They’ll be open for business in Banks in the next few days, while they transfer equipment from their current Forest Grove location.
“In the transaction business, you have to stop, go, stop, go – dozens of times [during road testing],” says Jeff Strickland, owner of Trans Action Transmission, located for almost 29 years on Pacific Avenue near where Highway 47 (known as Quince Street on this particular stretch of the highway) intersects it.
Strickland says that largely due to the traffic and safety concerns near his shop, he’s jumping at the chance to move to Banks, a community that Strickland, who lives on NW Strassel Road, is very familiar with.
The Pacific Avenue/Quince Street intersection marks one of the busiest stretches of road in Forest Grove, and recent construction at the intersection, coupled with increasing traffic in a growing city has made it difficult for customers to get to the shop, according to Strickland.
Strickland is in the process of moving his shop, along with five total employees counting Strickland and his wife, to the garage vacated by the closure of Strassel’s Automotive last month.
“We’re making a good move,” says Strickland.
Hours at the new location will remain the same, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new Banks location is at 42186 NW Sunset Avenue. To reach Trans Action Transmission by phone, dial 503-359-9141.
