Friends of Banks volunteer group launching, first meeting on Saturday, November 11

Banks – A local Banks man is launching a volunteer group to support local businesses, home owners and community members in the City of Banks.

Jesse Orange-Hough lives in Banks, and is a member of the city’s Economic Development Commission, where he says the idea of an active volunteer group was originated, though the group is not funded by or affiliated with the City of Banks.

Orange-Hough says he noticed a lot of great ideas produced by city residents, and that a Friends of Banks volunteer group can help people bring their projects to life.

“What’s great about small towns is that even a small act can be felt in the community.” says Orange-Hough.

The group’s first meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled for Saturday, November 11 at 12 p.m. at Banks Bicycle Repair & Rental, located at 14175 NW Sellers Rd. Banks, Oregon 97106.

Topics on the agenda include the most popular ideas for the groups first projects, such as a community garage sale, trash pick ups, garden plot installations and emergency preparedness.
