Banks – After three years of construction, effort, and paperwork, Hop Cycle Brewing Company, located in downtown Banks at 13965 NW Main Street, is open for business.
While they’re awaiting a couple of final equipment fixes and a few pieces of paperwork to be completed to start brewing, owner Tom Walsh is happy to serve a few examples of regional beers that he considers some of the best representations of the Pacific NW craft beer scene.
They include Kells Blood Orange Wheat, Widmer Steel Bridge Porter, and Breakside Wanderlust IPA.
He’ll also give a tour of his state-of-the-art brewing setup, which boasts what Walsh says is the highest level of automation available from the company that built the system.
Walsh, who has brewed at home for 25 years, is running the business with his wife, Diane, and their children.
“I just totally love this stuff,” he says.
With outdoor seating in front of the building, snacks available now, and when the paperwork comes through, a commercial kitchen available to prepare a menu of comfort food, the only brewery in Banks will bring a new dimension to Banks’ growing local food and drink scene.
Their current hours are Sunday to Monday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m and Thursday to Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m.
Minors are allowed in the building with their parents.
The brewery will not be open during the Banks BBQ; Walsh says that all hours will be kept updated on Google Maps.
