Oregon House District 32 candidate forum to be held in Gales Creek Wednesday, Oct. 10

Gales Creek – Four candidates vying for the open Oregon House of Representatives seat in House District 32 have been invited to a candidate forum in Gales Creek as part of the Community Participation Organization #13 (CPO 13) meeting on Wednesday, October 10.

CPO 13 is a volunteer run, nonpartisan county program that, among other things, discusses community livability and land use issues, and hosts a variety of candidate forums (Disclosure: CPO 13 is chaired by the publisher of the Journal and author of this article).

House District 32 includes Banks, Timber, portions of Buxton and Manning, Gales Creek, Hillside, Glenwood, and most of Gaston, as well as most of Tillamook County and all of Clatsop County.

The current representative, Deborah Boone, did not file for reelection and will end her 14 years in the Oregon legislature in January of 2019 when her replacement is sworn in.

All candidates for the seat have been invited, including Randell Carlson, a Libertarian based just outside of Tillamook, Brian P. Halvorsen, the Independent Party of Oregon and the Progressive Party’s nominee from Rockaway Beach, Vineeta Lower, the Republican nominee from Seaside, and Tiffiny K. Mitchell, the Democrat nominee from Astoria.

The candidate forum will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 p.m. at the Gales Creek Church of God at 9170 NW Sargent Rd, Gales Creek, OR 97117.
