Buxton – Washington County Sheriff Deputies responded to an early morning call Thursday, September 27 of a break-in at the Times Gas Station, located at 49950 NW Sunset Highway, which is at the intersection of the Nehalem Highway and NW Fisher Road near ‘downtown’ Buxton proper.
It’s the second time this September that the location has been hit by crime, with a robbery on September 4th.
Jeff Talbot, public information officer for the Washington County Sheriff’s office, said that police obtained video surveillance footage of the incident but due to the ongoing investigation they are not yet ready to release the video to the public.
Talbot said forensic teams currently remain on the scene, as of 11:30 a.m., processing evidence.
The Times Gas Station was robbed earlier this month — deputies responded to reports of a robbery just before 6 a.m. on Sept. 4 after what was described as a “male covered head-to-toe in black clothing (who) implied he had a gun,” the Banks Post reported earlier this month.
Talbot said an employee arriving at the Times Gas Station early this morning said the front door had been shattered by someone who “threw an object through it and stole a large (number) of tobacco items,” Talbot told the Banks Post.
“Deputies reviewed footage … and saw a white Ford 150-model 2003-07 (pickup truck) with two white male adults,” Talbot said. “ We can’t yet release the info found on the camera but obviously we are investigating and have a forensics team (at the Times Gas Station) processing the scene for information.”
Talbot said no license plate number is available for release at this time.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
