Two outbuildings destroyed in fire near Timber

Timber – Banks Fire District #13 responded to a fire just north of downtown Timber around 3:15 p.m. on Friday, March 23, according to Mitch Ward, Banks Fire District #13 Public Information Officer.

According to Ward, two outbuildings were completely destroyed.

Nine rabbits housed inside a hutch in one of the outbuildings were killed in the fire.

Banks Fire District #13 was assisted by Gaston Rural Fire Protection and Forest Grove Fire & Rescue, who sent a water tender to the scene and staffed the fire station in Banks until Banks crews cleared the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
