Raven Ridge Fire burning in the Coast Range near Timber

Timber –  A 5-8 acre wildfire is burning outside of Timber near Cochran Road, according to local residents and emergency crews. It has been designated the Raven Ridge Fire.

According to Nathan Agalvoff, a spokesperson for the Forest Grove District of the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), the fire is burning on state-owned land in the Tillamook State Forest. Fire crews on scene include ODF, Banks Fire District, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and Cornelius Fire Department, with air support on the way. No structures are currently threatened by the fire.

According to the Gaston Fire District, Hagg lake has been closed to boaters until further notice as air tankers use the lake to fill up with water to fight the fire.

Initial reports indicated it is burning in a previously logged area, with 15-20 mph winds causing the fire to move toward standing timber. As more information becomes available, this post will be updated.
